Recolonisation Of Africa Today

Africa is still one of those areas of the world where promise and opportunity sit side by side with disease, war, and desperate poverty. But, in terms of natural resources, Africa is the world's richest continent. Despite its wealth of natural resources, Africa is home to the world's most impoverished people. Several decades after formal independence for Europe's colonies in Africa, the masses are worse than at any time in the continent's history. In Africa, multinational capital has perfected a system for sucking out the resources of the continent at the expense of its inhabitants. The present crisis in Africa is the legacy of centuries of pillage, beginning with the slave trade and continuing through the colonial conquest and partition carried out by British, French, Belgian, Italian and German imperialism. Today, the methods for recolonising Africa have changed. But the goals remain the same-atomization, exploitation and domination. From a critical perspective there is concentrated ownership of the means of hegemony or call it technological apartheid within the post-industrial global system. This time around recolonisation of Africa is going on "With Neither Guns Nor Bullets."
